A seemingly ordinary charity auction in Lakewood, WA was given an extra boost of excitement two days before Halloween with the arrival of the Thirst Responder. Robi's Annual Holiday Charity Auction, on October 28th, became the talk of Pierce County when a red and white ambulance pulled up to the event and began passing out beer and wine to surprised guests. Although appearing similar to real emergency vehicles, the Thirst Responder is actually Pierce County’s premier mobile bar. Guests were quick to get their drinks and even quicker to snap pictures with this imaginative oddity. Flashing lights and creative cocktails kept drawing guests back for more and turned the event into an instant success. Thanks in part to the Thirst Responder, the evening helped raise over $1,100 for Care Net Pregnancy & Family Services in Pierce County.
